Bacalar, Quintana Roo to host MBE Persian Lime Business Event

Local producers expect to negotiate on tons of seedless limes with buyers from the United States.

Bacalar, Quintana Roo will be hosting the Market Business Experience (MBE) business meeting on July 20 and 21, 2021. There, local producers will meet with buyers from the United States to market and export Persian limes (seedless) from the state of Quintana Roo.

MBE is an exclusive business event that offers networking through B2B meetings with pre-arranged appointments. Pre-qualified buyers will be able to secure a product certified under international export quality standards, as well as fair prices for a win-win.

There are tons of seedless limes ready for export!

The MBE event will showcase the best farmers in the region, thanks to the participation of the Ministry of Agricultural, Rural, Fishing, and Livestock Development of Quintana Roo (SEDARPE).

Farmers successfully harvest practically 100% of the more than 2,300 hectares planted with limes throughout Quintana Roo, proof of the state’s exceptional agricultural capabilities.

In 2019, the state produced 32,504 tons of Persian limes, making it the 12th largest producer in the country. Thanks to its superior quality, Quintana Roo already exports lime to the United States, one of the buyers’ favorite fresh fruits.

Quintana Roo is a bio-secure destination and is reactivating in-person events.
