Top professionals from Latin America’s booming MICE industry will gather at the 36th Annual COCAL Congress in Panama City, Panamá, from March 12-15, 2019. Known as the Hub of the Americas, the city will host key players in this segment for three days of education, professional development, and celebration at the high-tech Megalopolis Convention Center, which sits atop the Multicentro mall and connects to the Radisson Decapolis and the Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis via suspension bridges.
The 36th COCAL Congress is the premiere annual event in the Latin American meetings industry and this year welcomes a total of 17 countries from Latin America, North America, and Europe.
Approximately 500 meetings industry professionals including members and buyers are expected to attend the Congress, which is co-hosted by the Asociación Panameña de Profesionales en Congresos, Exposiciones y Afines (APPCE) with the slogan “Integrating the Value Chain from the Hub of the Americas.” The event is directed towards professional meeting planners, meetings industry service providers, airlines, union leaders and associates, DMOs and convention bureaus, destination marketing organizations, higher education institutions, and other related entities.
Guest speakers include David Dubois, President and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE); Sherrif Karamat, President and CEO of PCMA; Heidi Welker, VP Freeman Group Canada, Chairwoman for Meetings Mean Business Alliance Canada; Susan Robertson, Executive VP ASAE, and CEO of the ASAE Foundation; and Gregg Talley, President and CEO of the Talley Management Group, Inc. in the United States.
