The MPI International Board of Directors approved the creation of the Mexican Caribbean MPI chapter, which will represent the Yucatan Peninsula. This chapter gathers professionals from the tourism industry.
It has more than 18,500 engaged members who work in meetings, tradeshows, conventions and expo segments from 80 chapters in 22 different countries around the world.
MPI is the largest meeting and event industry association worldwide. Its objectives are to generate business networks and get their members to know more about the MICE industry.
For Quintana Roo, this represents the access to more than 1,400 buyers who do business with Mexico, and it acts as a prominent voice for the promotion and growth of this industry.
MPI has a global community of 60,000 members in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.
Valeria Serrano, Managing Director of CTA, a Cancun and Riviera Maya focused DMC, who will be the chapter´s first President said: “The Mexican Caribbean has great tourism leaders eager to continue learning about the Meetings Industry; just for the record, this chapter has attracted more than 50 members in just 32 days”.

MPI, founded in 1972, has become the world’s leading association of event organizers or Dmc´s (Destination Management Company). It had not registered a new chapter since 2012.
